Job Overview
The Worship Leader will work in cooperation with the Senior Pastor and ministry staff to produce and oversee all worship and music ministry programs. The Worship Leader is responsible for weekly musical selections, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting, and the coordination of all instrumentalists and vocalists.

We are seeking an individual who loves to lead God’s people in worship, has a demonstrated creativity in their work, and would welcome the challenge of growing a ministry.

Spiritual:
 Profess faith in Jesus Christ and possess a commitment to spiritual growth
 Lead groups in praise and worship out of a servant’s heart
 Agree with the mission and doctrinal perspectives of the Davison Free Methodist Church (http://www.dfmchurch.org/)

Responsibilities/Competence:
 Coordinate and plan all aspects of worship, media and related elements with the senior pastor and ministry staff
 Rehearse weekly with volunteer musicians and lead weekly worship services
 Engage the church in special music programs and assist in promoting programs to the larger community
 Work with the children’s and youth ministry areas to establish a continuum of music ministry opportunities
 Support lay-leaders and volunteers and assist with leadership and skill development
 Possess effective organizational, administrative, and interpersonal communication skills

Possess ability to:
 Train volunteers and work with teams
 Lead worship with vocals and instruments
 Create a worship experience that integrates a variety of musical genres and worship arts into a seamless and thematic flow
 Utilize technology in worship (including sound, lighting, computing, presentation software, and video); evaluate, recommend, and plan for equipment needs, upgrades, and repairs
 Implement new and creative ministry ideas

Education and Experience:
 College degree preferred, although experience may be substituted for a degree
 Demonstrated effectiveness in worship, media and creative arts ministry
 Prior experience with audio/media systems

Musically Skillful:
 Possess an engaging, natural stage presence
 Be able to lead rehearsals, worship and larger musical groups
 Arrange music to enhance overall flow and fit the needs of a four-generations church
 Vocal expertise a must; instrumental expertise (guitar, piano, etc.) preferred
